New Tip on Upright Barbell Row

Exercise: Upright Barbell Row
Tip: There are several ways to fix the form of the uright row to avoid shoulder impingement. One other way is to make sure you move your scapular correctly with the movement and also get some external rotation in there, that way you can go as high as your neck. Also make sure your elbows point out to the sides not infront. Works for me but I don't know about everyone else. Still I would avoid a narrow grip. Yet another way is to look into Vince Gironda's high pull exercise, Lee Haney's behind the back variation, or try face pulls instead.
I just feel that the upright row and similar movements are so good at building traps and delts, and getting the mind muscle connection in that area that they shouldn't be scrapped from everyones training, but adjusted to make them safer. Aside from the possible impingement issues, the upright row is my favorive shoulder exercise for my side delts.
